Please join me in an inspirational, fun and relaxed floral workshop. I have developed my own vision and "gusty" application and technique using oils or pastels, creating underpaintings prior to adding layers, resulting in a beautiful and rich floral - with expressive use of color and value.
Open to students of all levels.
Learn and practice composition, values, color, building underpaintings, layers of pastels and oils, edges and finishing.
Workshop Supplies to Bring (May vary by workshop):
PASTELS
Wallis or Art Spectrum Paper – 2 sheets in cream or white
Pastels – hard and soft – darks to lights
Drawing board or support board
Masking tape
Portable easel – table or standing
Turpenoid (odorless) and turp can to hold it
#6 or #8 brush-bristle
Chamois or some sort of soft cloth
Fixative (workable)
Floral photos to work from
OILS
Canvas or Gesso Board
12x14 or larger OR squares of 12x12 or larger
Oils (suggested colors), any brand (with a few suggestions):
Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium (Cad)
Yellow Medium, Cad Orange, Cad Red Light,
Cad Green (Gamblin), Alizaran Crimson, Cobalt Blue,
Ultramarine Blue, Purple Lake (WindsorNewton),
Permanent Red Violet (Van Gogh)
Turpenoid (odorless) and turp can to hold it
Palette
Palette knife and brushes
Portable easel – table or standing
Paper towels
Floral photos to work from
